From April 15th to May 5th, the 137th China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) is being held in Guangzhou in three phases. The event is packed with highlights, showcasing new vitality in China's foreign trade. Covering a total exhibition area of 1.55 million square meters with about 74,000 booths, this edition sees the number of exporters surpass 30,000 for the first time, up nearly 900 from the last session. Attendance of overseas buyers is expected to remain stable in quantity and improve in quality. A total of 880,000 green and low-carbon products and 320,000 smart products are on display, along with several newly launched specialized exhibition zones.
The record number of exhibitors highlights the strong capabilities of Chinese manufacturing. Over 4,200 new companies are participating for the first time, and more than 9,700 are recognized as national high-tech enterprises. Around 3,700 exhibitors are involved in sectors like the "new three" products, namely EVs, lithium batteries and solar cells. These "Intelligently Manufactured in China" enterprises are presenting both proprietary brands and internationally certified products, making the Canton Fair a competitive arena for top-tier companies and a vital link between global demand and Chinese production, living up to its reputation as a barometer of China's foreign trade.
The rising number of overseas buyers reflects deepening global recognition. As of April 8th, nearly 170,000 overseas buyers had pre-registered. Some 223 of the Top 250 Global Retailers and major foreign trade groups have confirmed attendance, a 9.9% increase from the same period last session. This is a vote of confidence from the global business community in the Canton Fair and the Chinese market. The event serves as a magnet for international trade, helping Chinese companies sell globally and enabling global buyers to source worldwide.
The emergence of new themed zones reflects the momentum of industrial innovation and upgrading. For the first time, a dedicated zone for service robots has been established, with 46 leading companies showcasing cutting-edge AI products. Over half of the exhibitors hold patents in the green and low-carbon development sectors, and more than 60% use digital tools to secure foreign trade orders. Focused on greening, digitization, and intelligence, the Canton Fair mirrors China's efforts to foster new quality productive forces and propel "Made in China" up the global industrial and value chains.
The continuous innovation at the Canton Fair sends a strong signal of China's deepening high-level opening-up. It injects fresh momentum into global economic recovery and serves as a representation of China's steady economic progress and unwavering commitment to openness.

广交盛会“新”意足,开放中国活力强
4月15日至5月5日,第137届中国进出口商品交易会在广州分三期举办。本届广交会亮点纷呈,彰显中国外贸新活力。从规模上看,展览总面积155万平方米,展位总数约7.4万个,出口展参展企业首次突破3万家,比上届增加近900家,境外采购商到会有望量稳质升。现场展示绿色低碳产品88万件、智能产品32万件,还增设多个全新专区。
参展企业数量突破,彰显中国制造硬核实力。新参展企业超4200家,拥有国家高新技术等称号的企业超9700家 ,“新三样”等相关题材企业约3700家。这些带着“中国智造”标签的企业,携自主品牌与国际通行认证亮相,使广交会成为优质企业的“竞技场”,紧密连接“中国制造”与世界需求,无愧中国外贸“风向标”之名。
境外采购商数量攀升,印证全球市场深度认同。截至4月8日,近17万名境外采购商预注册,223家全球零售250强和各国大商确认组团参会,较上届同期增长9.9% 。这是全球工商界对广交会的信任,也是对中国市场投下的“信心票”。广交会让中国企业“卖全球”,世界客商“买全球”,是开拓国际市场的“磁力场”。
各类新设专区涌现,折射产业升级创新动能。首次增设的服务机器人专区,46家行业代表企业带来尖端产品,展示人工智能最新成果。超半数参展企业在绿色低碳领域拥有专利,超60%的参展企业通过数字化手段获取外贸订单。广交会围绕“三化”发力,是中国培育新质生产力的缩影,助推“中国制造”迈向全球产业链、价值链中高端。
广交会新意不断,释放中国扩大高水平对外开放信号,为全球经济复苏注入动力,是中国经济稳步向前的生动缩影,坚定践行开放承诺。
